Competition runs over 2 days at a selected venue with approx 12 teams
participating.
A team consists of 5 pairs, with 2 additional substitute pairs allowed.
Saturday is Foursomes strokes, i.e. 2 players, alternate shots, strokes.
The 4 best scores from 5 are compiled and that is your team score.
The 4 teams with the lowest scores qualify for the semi finals the next day.
Semi finals and final are Foursomes Matchplay.
Substitute pairs can be used for semi finals and finals.
Handicaps:
Note: the handicaps used for calculation are you lowest handicap in the previous year.
Minimum 12
Minimum
combined handicap of pair is 27, i.e. 13&14 or 12&15 etc.
Plan:
First Qualify from the Saturday.
If 4 pairs played to their average handicap the team would almost definitely
qualify: (for combined handicap of 27, average 13.5/14, 86 on a par 72
course).
Depending on the course difficulty, weather etc. this may go up.
Then its match play and we can use our substitute pairs to give people a
rest, replace somebody not playing well etc.
